Wild West Pie

This easy family meal will have everyone hootin and hollerin for more!

  • 2 x 420g cans baked beans
  • 6-8 Hellers classic sausages cut in half
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 white onions thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 1 pack Cinderella instant potato mash
  • 50g garlic butter
  • 1 cup grated cheese plus extra for the top
  • To Serve:
  • 400g frozen peas
  • 25g butter
  • Bread rolls heated


  1. Preheat oven 180C
  2. Make the mashed potato according to pack instructions and using the garlic butter. Fold through a cup of grated cheese and set aside
  3. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the onions for 5-8 mins until soft. Remove from the heat and stir through the sausages, baked beans and BBQ sauce and season. Tip into a large ovenproof dish
  4. Top with the mashed potato, swirling it with a fork to encourage a crispy finish. Sprinkle over the cheese and bake for 20 mins until golden and bubbling
  5. Meanwhile, cook the peas in a pot of boiling, salted water for 3 mins until tender, drain and place in a serving dish topped with butter. Serve with the crusty warm bread rolls and extra butter
